The workshop will orient the participants to Permaculture and Permaculture Design. It will introduce the participant to what Permaculture is and isn’t by guiding the participants gently towards the ethics and principles of Permaculture (please refer the syllabus).
The workshop is structured to build the foundation for the participant to study further and to explore Permaculture through self-study or by attending courses suitable to his/her needs. It also includes themes of Permaculture design which will be discussed in detail with a new perspective which is seldom included in a typical introduction course.
The Permaculture Design Foundation-I is an information-heavy workshop, and also has interesting activities and assignments. It is a pre-requisite to attend any of the courses conducted by Jyoti and will also serve as a strong base for the participants to choose from many available, other long courses like the PDC and learn from other instructors.

The workshop introduces a whole-systems approach to design regenerative human habitats. Anyone, irrespective of occupation, age and background will benefit and is encouraged to attend.

This workshop can be attended singly, or as a part and a pre-requisite of the program, ‘Build a Permaculture Paradise’, conducted by Jyoti. This is a course designed to be held in four parts. Three parts (including this workshop) add up to the syllabus of the standard 72-hour Permaculture Design Certificate course, and more. Jyoti is a certified Permaculture teacher and the participants completing these three parts of the series will be eligible to receive the internationally recognised PDC certificate.
A limited number of participants from those who complete the three parts will be eligible to register for the fourth part of the series, called ‘Design your landscape’. During this part of the course, the participants will design their own landscapes under guidance of Jyoti, a professional permaculture designer.
To know more about the complete program, Build a Permaculture Paradise, the participants are encouraged to connect on +919820139910 and/or email@example.com.
The whole series of courses is an attempt to bridge the gap between the theory and application of Permaculture.
A wonderful group of participants, monsoon, an open classroom in the lap of Mother Nature. The host was Native place, a beautiful guest house and a paragliding training center in Kamshet, Maharashtra, owned and managed by Astrid and Sanjay Rao. The garden is lovingly designed and built by Astrid and was a perfect venue to hold the workshop. With five stars to all the facilities, the venue was a wish come true for my first Permaculture course.
There are interesting and fun workshops and courses coming up. Stay tuned!
